We are seeking an Associate Biologist to support laboratory and field-based biological studies within a collaborative scientific team. The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, execution, and documentation of experiments, helping to generate reliable data that supports research, development, and operational objectives. Responsibilities may include preparing samples and reagents, maintaining biological cultures or specimens, operating standard laboratory equipment, and following approved protocols in accordance with relevant quality, health, and safety requirements.
You will record, analyse, and interpret experimental results using appropriate scientific methods, identifying trends, investigating unexpected findings, and communicating conclusions clearly. The role will involve maintaining accurate laboratory records, preparing technical reports and presentations, contributing to study plans and standard operating procedures, and supporting the review of scientific literature. You may also assist with method development, validation activities, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and the coordination of work with colleagues across related scientific or technical functions.
Applicants should hold a degree in biology, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, or a related discipline, together with relevant laboratory or research experience. Practical knowledge of aseptic technique, sample handling, data analysis, and common laboratory procedures is desirable. Experience with molecular, cellular, microbiological, ecological, or analytical techniques will be considered an advantage, depending on project needs. You should demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound scientific judgement, effective written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities. A proactive approach, commitment to accurate documentation, and willingness to learn new methods are essential. The successful candidate must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, while consistently meeting ethical, regulatory, and safety standards.
