Location Highlights
Staten Island offers access to waterfront views and city-connected transit, with the Staten Island Ferry providing free service to Lower Manhattan in about 25 minutes and the Staten Island Greenbelt covering more than 2,800 acres of trails and natural areas. The Staten Island Museum and Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden sit near the North Shore and offer year-round cultural attractions, while the Staten Island Zoo is located within a short drive of many residential neighborhoods. South Beach and Franklin D. Roosevelt Boardwalk provide shoreline recreation along the eastern coast, and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge connects the borough to Brooklyn in roughly 15 to 20 minutes by car, depending on traffic.
